Pat McKeon from NYC to Panama City, Panama

Hello, Pat McKeon here and I am very excited to finally put this blog together to share with you My Adventures, having lived all my life in NYC & Now Living in Panama City, Panama. In this blog, I will attempt to share with you my life in NYC and how at age 52, I decided to become an Ex-Pat and relocate to Central America!  I have been in Panama , for 8 months, having left NYC on August 10, 2011.  I will always remember that day, for many reasons, one being that had anyone ever told me, I. Pat McKeon, would be leaving New York City, well, I would have said "Absolutely, NO WAY POSSIBLE"  Like that was not even a Possibility!!

NYC was my ultimate playground...In 1978, I was 20 years old!!  It was the summer of Son of Sam, NY's serial killer,  Film-maker, Roman Polanski fled to France to escape rape charges and Jim Jones, cult leader, had 400 of his followers drink the poisoned Kool-Aid!!  The movie Blockbusters that summer were, Grease, Saturday Night Fever, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind!  We all were dancing to The Bee Gees with Night Fever and Staying Alive, Dancing with John Travolta, as he and his friends were going dancing on Saturday night clubs in Brooklyn...Dancing...Dancing...that what the 80's in NYC were about..and gas was only .63 cents per gallon...Although for my friends and I, cabbing was the preferred method for getting around. & it seemed that $5.00 got you very far in a cab, then.  It was the year for Keith Haring to come to NY to study at The School of Visual Arts:

Remember If I CAN DO IT; So CAN YOU!!
